Group One winner Stefi Magnetica has secured the Newgate / GPI Racing slot for next month’s 2024 TAB Everest.

Trained by Bjorn Baker, Stefi’s spot in Everest is well-earned. "Stefi's rise through the ranks from a Wellington maiden to an Everest contender has been remarkable for my stable, particularly for her ownership group. She showed in The Shorts that she is still on an upward trajectory and the best is yet to come. Zac Lloyd shares my confidence in her ability and she will be at her peak on Everest day. It is a real thrill for myself and my team to once again be part of Australia's richest race,” comments Baker.

The highly prized slot for Australia's richest race is held in partnership with GPI Racing and Newgate founder Henry Field. “We are delighted to have secured Stefi Magnetica for the Newgate/GPI Everest slot. Daniel O’Sullivan who we work with closely on form feels she’s a mare who is still on an upward spiral and rated her well off her last two starts. Equally, it is lovely to do a deal with her co-owners the Cunningham family who we have a close relationship with.”

The TAB Everest will be held on Saturday 19 October 2024 at Royal Randwick, Sydney.
